If you are seeking KG1 in the Indian curriculum, your son is now old enough for you to apply for next April since he will have turned 4 this year.  If you are looking at an alternative curriculum for September, he will already meet the criteria for pre-KG in a 12 grade school or FS1 in the UK curriculum, since he will already be more than 3 years and 8 months old as at 31st August/ 4 years old by end December.

Applications for Indian Curriculum schools usually start around October – you will need to check the school websites to find out the dates admissions open,  Similarly, most other curriculum schools open applications for September next year at around the same time.  If you wish to find a place for September in pre-KG/FS1, you may well need to wait now until August as most schools will have allocated places for the next academic year already and will be closing for the summer at the end of this week.
