Indian school for Son born on Aug-01-2102

Dear Sir,

Indian Schools are not providing admission to my son  born on Aug-1 2012 stating that he is young by one (1) day.

I spoke to KHDA and MoE. However, still struggling to get a favorable response. Is there any procedure to request for a grace period from our end (individual case basis) as the schools are giving up on the efforts for a relaxation. Loosing an year for a day is bit harsh.

British and American schools are expensive too afford.

Dear Parush,

Unfortunately, it seems that both the KHDA and MoE are sticking with the approved cut-off dates and are not making exceptions.  You can go directly to the KHDA and discuss the situation, but there seem to be many families in a similar situation.  You can contact the KHDA on 8005432.

I ran from all pillars to all posts bouncing between KHDA and MOE. It seems that my son will lose an year because he is underage by few hours. Unfortunate!!!

Yes, unfortunate, but it seems the KHDA, MoE are sticking closely to the rules. It may not be helpful in your case, but ultimately should lead to more clarity that they do so.
