My son is now 3.5yr old studying in india in nursery class.i will be moving back to dubai by june or july 2017 and me & hubby planning to do home schooling for him for KG1.and for next academic year 2018 we want to put him in KG2 in any good indian school in dubai. However im not sure can my child get admission in kg2 directly without kg1 certificates. though he is good in studies and i strongly believe he can clear any assessment or test but wil they give him admission directly in kg2.

Im mother of 3.5 year old boy…im hoping that i wil get the best and suitable reply here.
Thanx in advance

Hi Fatima,

The normal practice is for children to be placed in the age appropriate grade.  You have not provided your son’s exact date of birth, but he would need to be 4 years and 8 months on 31st March 2018 to enter KG2.  If he is now only 3 years and 6 months, he is too young for KG1 and will be too young for KG2 in 2018.

Please be aware that the pressure for places in KG classes in Indian schools in Dubai is still intense.  In many ways, applying for a KG1 place will be easier as schools do not generally add additional places in KG2.  I would advise you to start to research the schools that are of interest to you, bearing in mind that applications are usually made in September/October.  You will find that the newer schools are more likely to have places – there are several around the Al Qouz area that may be able to assist.

Good Luck with your search.
