Schools following indian curriculum, with IGCSE

A school would say it follows the Indian curriculum but then it offers IGCSE/ O level/ Alevel  so does this mean that these schools start teaching for the exam in year 9 or year 10 ? In British schools they start in year 10 so …? An example could be the Ibn Seena School in Sharjah.

HI Hiba, the easy way to find the answer to this is to check whether the school follows a KG to grade 12 system or an FS to year 13 one (usually UK curriculum schools only but there are some exceptions). The IGCSE/GCSE 2 year programme is usually introduced in the year in which students turn 15 (so either grade 9 or year 10) whilst A levels are usually at age 17 (so grade 11 or year 12).
