Transfer from Cbse to british curriculum.

Hi madam ,
Please post anonymously,
My daughter was born in the year 2014 June. She will be going to KG1 this April (2018) in accordance with the CBSE syllabus.
But I want to transfer her to British curriculum in a few years as cbse is not followed in the country i live.
Will she have to repeat an academic year when she is transferred?
What are the difficulties she will face when she shifts to british curriculum.

HI Muhil,

It depends very much on when you transfer your daughter.   If you move her before she reaches age 6, so effectively this would need to be next September 2019, then her year group will be based on her age and she would join year 1, even though she will not have completed KG2.  If you wait thereafter, then her transfer will be based on the Transfer Certificate, and since she will not have completed the current academic year, she will need to join the same (equivalent) year group as her grade in her current school.  She will not lose an entire year because of the different academic year, but she will end up potentially repeating a term of work and finishing in June rather than March.

Alternate Emirates don’t allow transfer between schools or curricula amid the academic year, yet in the event that a transfer is occurring toward the beginning of the new academic year inside a similar Emirate. For transfers between Emirates, which may happen whenever up to April for September starters and January for April academic year schools, a transfer endorsement will be required. This is set up by the current school and this should be attested by the relevant Regulator.
