Transfer from India to Dubai

Good day,

My son is studying KG-1 (CBSE) in India. I am seeking the admission for KG-2 for academic year 2015-16 in a Dubai Indian school.

I would like to know the procedure, rules and regulations for smooth admission.

Best Regards,

Ravi

Dear Ravi, you will need to contact each of the CBSE curriculum schools to which you wish to apply individually, as each has their own Admissions team and timings for when applications for the new school year are accepted. You can find details of CBSE schools here on Whichschooladvisor.com and I would advise you to look at the KHDA website (the Dubai Education Authority) and at the individual School Inspection reports – http://www.khda.gov.ae. These are also grouped by curriculum type.

You will usually be required to apply on-line through the school website and then to either email or courier copies of your son’s birth certificate and passport, your passport and copies of any school reports that you may have. All documents need to be in either English or Arabic. There is usually an application fee which would need to be paid prior to your son’s file being reviewed. As your son is applying for KG2, you will not usually require a transfer certificate. However, please note that your son will need to have turned 5 by 31st July 2015 in order to be admitted to KG2. If his 5th birthday falls after 31st July, he will not be permitted to join KG2 and will have to repeat KG1.

The Ministry of Education has mandated that children must have reached 4 years of age by 31st July of the school year in which they commence in KG1. Therefore, if your other child does not match this age requirement, you will not be able to submit an application.
