Admission to FS1
I have been informed by my child’s school administration that they will take my child in FS-1 for session starting 2015-16 September ,if the child is born between 01st Jan 2012 to 31st Dec 2012.My child was born in Dec 2011 which makes him one month older than the required age.
Is there any KHDA policy regarding this age criteria.
Thank you for your question. The KHDA may well feel that your child should be admitted to FS2, as he will be 4 by 31st December 2015. You really would need to persuade the school that FS2 is not suitable for your son and request to be allowed a variance for his admission to FS1 which would then need to be approved by the KHDA. However, the school must also support this change of year group and they may well not be in a position to do so.
