Admission to KG1 2015-2016
Dear Sir, I am trying to get admission for my son (born on 23rd August 2011) to KG1 in Sharjah . But as per the ministry rule the child should be 4 years until 31st of July and so no school is giving admission. Is there any school which can consider this period of 23 days. Will the Ministry give some approval to schools to consider such August born children for KG1 Admission. Please Advise.

As far as we are aware, the birthday cut off dates are being strictly applied in Sharjah and if your child is not 4 on 31st July, admission will not be given. It is worth checking with the schools as occasionally we find that some form of variance is possible, but I think it is unlikely that any allowance will be made. The only other option would be to apply to a British or other international curriculum school for September, since the cut off date is 31st December in this case and your son would be old enough to attend FS2.
