Dear Joice,

Cambridge and Edexcel are both Examination Boards in the UK (AQA is another well known one).  Each Board is responsible for setting the syllabus and exams within the framework of the English National curriculum.  Cambridge (currently) is the only Board which sets the IGCSE examinations (although this is due to change).   There are differences between the content and structure of the curricula (including coursework requirements for instance), but both are treated as academically equal from a qualification perspective.
