Do universities prefer IB or A’ Levels?

1 Answer(s)

In theory A’ Levels are preferred in the UK, and IB in Europe/Internationally, however the reality is increasingly both are valued on their own merits, and one is not necessarily preferred above the other.

A far more important question is which curriculum – IB or A’ Levels – best suits you/your child.

A’ Levels are more focused – a student can choose all Arts or all Sciences; IB, by demanding more subjects to be taken, is more balanced. It is also more class and coursework intensive, and demands considerable time management skills.

WSA has covered this extensively. These articles should give you a really good foundation on which curriculum to choose.
