There is an increasing number of schools offering the IB curriculum in Abu Dhabi and if your son remains in the IB system, he would be able to take Art at the Higher Level potentially.  However, he would also be required to take 5 other subjects, as well as Theory of Knowledge and to complete the Extended Essay.

If you feel that this is not a suitable curriculum, you may wish to consider a change of curriculum at the end of grade 10.  One alternative you may wish to consider is the possibility of your son taking A Levels (following the British system), where he would be required to take 3 subjects and potentially could focus a larger part of his studies on Art and associated subjects.
