Nord Anglia vs Repton senior school
We are relocating to Dubai in the coming new year and looking for a senior school place which offer a UK curriculum. Any advice between Repton and Nord Anglia? Appreciate Nord is a new school and is yet to establish itself in Dubai.
Dear UK 123,
Please have a look at the Reviews on whichschooladvisor.com and the DSIB Inspection Reports for Repton onhttp://www.khda.gov.ae – the Dubai School Regulator.
As you mention, Nord Anglia is a new school to Dubai, although its sister school in Abu Dhabi (BISAD) has been established for a number of years and the Senior Team at NA Dubai were responsible for the establishment and opening of the NA School in Beijing prior to the move to Dubai. NA Dubai is much smaller school than Repton with around 750 students and the Secondary school is relatively small, being open only upto year 9 currently. If you feel that your children would settle more quickly in a smaller environment, where all the students are essentially new to the school – given that it only opened in September – this may be an important factor in your decision. Maximum class sizes are 18 students and the school is academically challenging with a selective admission policy.
Repton is a much larger school of over 2,000 students. It has excellent facilities and if Sport is a particular interest for your children, they are able to offer many different options. Historically Repton has probably not been as selective academically, but it is focussed on ensuring that new students are capable of performing well at IGCSE and IB Diploma and assesses students wishing to join the school accordingly. Class sizes are a maximum of 24 students.
