Transfer to Dubai from Ukraine; 2 Daughters

Good afternoon. I’m seeking the admission for two my daughters for academic year 2015-2016 in Dubai International school. Curriculum education style and, probably A-grade level are in subject.

Date of arrival to Dubai is JUNE 2015. Academic year to be started from september 2015.

The eldest daughter will have 14 yrs age and Certificate of Preparatory Education completed (9 ful years)

The youngest daughter will have 10 yrs age and Certificate of 6 yrs school completion (6 full years).

I would like to know the procedure, rules and regulations, mandatory exams, etc.  for smooth admission. Extra demands to Transfer Certificate submition are also important for me.

Dear Audrey, I would suggest that you start to contact schools that are of interest to you as soon as possible – you can find out details of schools offering A Level through the search engine on Whichschooladvisor.com.

The number of schools offering A Level is relatively limited in Dubai, so you will need to start the process well ahead. You do not mention your daughters’ standard of English – this will also be an important factor, as if they require additional English support, it is unlikely that A Levels will be appropriate.

Schools will definitely require your daughters to take entrance assessments and, in many instances, they only allow the tests to take place in Dubai, so you will need to plan for this. All schools advise the requirements in regard to documents as part of the registration information. You will need all documents to be translated into English or Arabic and the “Transfer Certificate” that your daughters’ current school will issue when they leave, will need to be attested by your local Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs, and then by the UAE consulate or its representative, prior to attestation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE.
